  Frequently Asked Questions

Because you asked…

  • Who is ChristianFM?

Christian FM is a mission to the families of the Treasure and Space coasts.

ChristianFM reaches  beyond the walls of your church and goes into the homes of the people who have never opened your sanctuary door.  Every week, Christian FM  reaches more homes than all our area churches combined.

Through Internet radio and missionary projects, the station also reaches beyond our community to listeners around the world.  Today, Christian FM corresponds with hearts in virtually every country on earth.  Christian FM also operates TheWorshipStation.com. This Internet only station features 24/7 live contemporary worship music. With listeners around the world, the signal originates from the ChristianFM studios.

  • Who listens to Christian FM?

ChristianFM is targeted to young families raising children. Every week, tens of thousands of area residents listen to this outreach. ChristianFM is consistently among the most listened-to stations in our area.   Christian FM has an especially large audience among kids, teens, and young adults.

For many people, Christian FM is a spiritual lifeline.  More than one-third of ChristianFM listeners do not attend any church and do not describe themselves as “born-again.”   They are often introduced to ChristianFM by a family member, friend, or co-worker.  Others discover us because of our high profile in community activities, schools, or our service to local government.

  • How is Christian FM supported?

ChristianFM is, and has always been, a public radio station.  We are a not-for-profit faith mission, and our support comes from the generosity of our community.

  • What is “Care-a-Thon"?

Care-a-thon is a once-a-year broadcast that starts on Tuesday morning and runs until 7 p.m. Thursday night.  During this short time, we ask listeners of ChristianFM to phone in “faith promises” of support for the coming year.  We share the vision of this ministry and allow God to speak to hearts.  Care-a-thon is critical to our continued existence. We simply can’t operate without the support of friends like you.  I hope you’ll consider playing a role

Most listeners tell us that Care-a-thon is the most exciting time of our broadcast year.  Sometimes things get a little bit crazy and we have lots of fun. But what most people talk about are those times when heaven seems to intersect with the radio, and God ministers to our listeners in powerful ways. We’ve seen miracles EVERY Care-a-thon. Perhaps God has one for you!

  • Why are there more pledge drives?

In this era of amazing technologies, we are presented with many opportunities. We also need to constantly learn. One thing we have discovered is that it is now impossible to effectively reach all of our listeners in just 3 days, as we've done in the past during Care-a-thon! We live in a time of cell phones, email, computers, and a thousand distractions most people did not have just 15 years ago!

In 2009, ChristianFM is starting to encourage new supporters throughout the year. We'll keep you updated on the progress of our pledge drive by publishing the latest totals on our Web site. On the air, we’ll plan a special broadcast at least twice a year -- including the one you're listening to today -- to share our vision and allow listeners to become part of our team. (Most public stations do at least 2 extended pledge drives, and most Christian stations air between two and four pledge drives each year.)

  • Where does my monthly gift go?

Your monthly gift is used to pay for the many expenses of operating Christian FM. Salaries, electricity, studio and transmitter maintenance, office supplies, postage, legal and insurance fees, engineering expenses, telephones and much more.

  • Where do annual or “one-time” gifts go?

These gifts are generally used to purchase equipment, technology, computers and other broadcasting items needed.  One-time gifts also help us with broadcast mission projects overseas as we seek to help Christian radio grow elsewhere.

  • What is a “faith promise”?

When you make a pledge of support to ChristianFM, we regard it as a faith promise.   Just ask God what you should give during 2009, and then fill out your pledge card. We do not send you a bill. We simply believe God to use you during the year ahead as a supporting partner.

  • Why should I support ChristianFM?

ChristianFM is reaching lives at home, and all around the world. Your support provides “safe radio for the family” in a day when it is badly needed. Your support also is healing homes, restoring relationships, and bringing people to Christ and into a relationship with God. Every month, thousands of listeners are finding encouragement, hope, and renewal in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

It is not that I am just looking for a financial gift, but I am looking for what may be credited to your heavenly account.
